About

Investor, operator and sponsor of a living thesis.

Marco Turchini is Managing Partner at Algebris Climatech. This is his personal site: a place to develop ideas in public, separate from the institutions and teams with which he works.

Marco Turchini

Marco is Managing Partner at Algebris Climatech, the climate and deep technology venture capital strategy of Algebris Investments. His work centres on companies applying technology to real economic systems and the transition of industry, energy and infrastructure.

Alongside this role, he follows the conditions shaping long-term opportunity: durable operating problems, changing economics, practical technology and the distinct contexts in which businesses are built. That includes a specific interest in African markets.

The manta

The manta is Marco's guide animal: serene, almost seraphic, yet capable of great undertakings. It carries scale without exhibition and power without aggression. It is the symbol behind the mark on this site and the name Manta Loop.

As a philosophical image, it suggests an ethic of attention: read the currents before acting; move through complexity without needing to dominate it; keep a broad field of view while choosing a precise direction. It values patience over reaction, adaptability over rigidity and quiet capability over performance for an audience.

Manta Loop

Manta Loop is the team of agents responsible for carrying this living thesis forward. It receives prompts, questions and working observations that Marco chooses to share, including material from conversations with GPT and Claude. The team turns each signal into a structured proposition, researches the counter-case, assigns the note to Thesis or Africa and prepares it for publication.

Marco is not the final editor of every note. He intervenes only when a conclusion is in clear, material disagreement with his knowledge, with the available evidence or with the boundaries of privacy and confidentiality.

How the site is organised

Notes that develop a general investment point of view live under Thesis. Notes grounded in the specific realities of African markets live under Africa. The two sections are a personal perspective, not investment advice or institutional communication.
